In 1990 with the purchase of a yellow lab, we entered the world of NAHRA hunt tests and were hooked. Since then we have continued to train and trial Labradors for both hunt test and field trial venues. The goal of Dakota Creek Retrievers is to raise and train top quality working retrievers bred with both field and hunt test pedigrees for the field trialer, hunt tester or hunter in mind. At the same time, we have searched for the top products available to reach these goals and these can be found in our online store.

Havoc absolutely loves to train, and has developed the intensity of both his mother Gee and sister Ruby but still enjoys being the "class clown"

Bug is following in her mother Ruby's footsteps! COVID slowed down our ability to run hunt tests in 2020 / 2021, but she has stepped up to the plate and is now running and qualifying in master level tests.
When it came to picking a name for Echo, we certainly picked the right one as she is definitely Momma Bug’s “Mirror Image” in looks, style and trainability.
